Job Description:
Solli Engineering is seeking a Director of Landscape Architecture, Permitting & Planning with 10+ years experience in Land Develompent to join our growing team in Monroe, CT. A successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team and contributing to the growth of an up and coming firm. Responsibilities will include the management of planning, design, permitting, preparation of specifications, landscape design, lighting design, , permitting and planning, and technical reports for a variety of land development projects. You will be able to see projects from initial concept through completion.
Requirements:
- Proven track record of successful Connecticut Land Development Services
- Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture;
- Licensed Landscape Architect in the State of Connecticut or Massachusetts required;
- 10+ years of experience in related land development projects;
- knowledge of the Connecticut (and broader New England) land use entitlement processes and local and state regulations;
- Possess local experience with private developments performing site due diligence, preparing land use permit applications, understanding of zoning laws and presenting to municipal agencies;
- Strong client development and client management abilities with ability to function as a seller / doer;
- Respected, well-known and well-connected in the local marketplace;
- Effectively manage projects from concept through construction documents;
- Self-starter with the ability to manage, motivate, mentor and lead others;
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal;
- Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and judgment capabilities;
- Ability to effectively manage a team;
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications;
- Experienced in report and proposal writing including sub-contractor cost estimation;
- Reliable transportation to access job sites and a valid drivers license in good standing;
- Position requires work Monday through Friday with occasional evenings and weekends;
