Trinity Health Stadium—home to Hartford Athletic—required a comprehensive Traffic Management Plan (TMP) due to its location in a dense urban neighborhood and the surge of event-related travel demand that differs significantly from typical daily traffic patterns. As the stadium and broader city continue to grow as a regional destination, coordinated traffic operations are essential to mitigate congestion, ensure safety, maintain emergency access, and minimize impacts on nearby residents. The TMP developed by Solli evaluated roadway conditions, intersections, parking, pedestrian and transit activity, and introduced strategies such as designated ingress/egress routes, intersection controls, parking management with overflow planning, and clearway finding. It also emphasized multimodal accommodations—including pedestrians, rideshare, and transit—and operational measures like staggered arrivals, temporary controls, and communication protocols. Overall, the plan promotes a coordinated, adaptable approach featuring active traffic management, defined routing, enhanced pedestrian safety, and ongoing collaboration with city agencies and stakeholders to support efficient and safe event-day operations.
