Solli's geotechnical engineers provided construction engineering services for the Metro-North Darien Station Improvement Project (CTDOT Project No. 301-0195) in Darien, Connecticut. The project involved designing temporary excavation support systems to enable construction of new passenger platforms within five feet of active rail lines. We evaluated subsurface conditions, conducted geotechnical analyses, and developed construction drawings for soldier pile and steel plate lagging systems. Our phased design process enabled collaboration and review by Metro-North, CTDOT, and the Engineer of Record to ensure safe and efficient execution near critical infrastructure.
