Solli Engineering provided full site and civil engineering services for the redevelopment of approximately 4.23 acres at 73 & 75 Church Hill Road in Newtown, Connecticut, transforming a contaminated former gas station and dry-cleaning site into a vibrant mixed-use commercial center featuring retail and restaurant uses, including a Starbucks with drive-through service.
The project involved complex grading, drainage, and stormwater management design, integration with CTDOT’s Edmond Road realignment at Interstate 84 Exit 10, and detailed traffic analysis to ensure safe and efficient operations. Solli also oversaw the wetland and watercourse remediation of Tom Brook, including stream relocation, habitat restoration, and environmental capping of legacy contaminants in coordination with CTDEEP, CTDOT, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, resulting in a sustainable redevelopment that enhances both transportation efficiency and ecological integrity.
