Solli played a major role in supporting the rollout of three AFC (American Family Care) Urgent Care Centers in Connecticut—New Britain, Vernon, and Torrington—translating a standardized development model into successful, site-specific outcomes. Delivered during a period when healthcare services were rapidly shifting from hospital campuses to accessible neighborhood locations, these projects required intensive coordination of site feasibility, civil design, permitting, and regulatory approvals. Across all three sites, Solli advanced grading, drainage, utility design, and access planning while maintaining consistency with AFC’s branding, operational standards, and patient-focused amenities.
Each location presented unique development or ground-up challenges. In New Britain, Solli facilitated the adaptive reuse of a former quick-service restaurant site, including parcel subdivision, new access configuration, and integration of stormwater management solutions to support a modern medical use. In Vernon, the team supported the transformation of an existing commercial building into a state-of-the-art urgent care center, including survey and site evaluation services that informed efficient reuse and expansion planning. In Torrington, Solli engineered a ground-up facility with optimized traffic flow, parking, and subsurface stormwater detention systems to manage increased impervious coverage while improving water quality and controlling peak discharge rates.
Together, these projects demonstrate Solli’s ability to deliver repeatable, brand-aligned site solutions while responding to the distinct physical and regulatory context of each community. The successful outcomes reflect a network of conveniently located urgent care centers that enhance healthcare access, reduce strain on hospital emergency departments, and contribute to the revitalization of commercial corridors throughout Connecticut.
