A portion of Guilford’s coastline underwent a comprehensive restoration and enhancement effort to improve resilience, protect sensitive coastal resources, and support growing public use of the area’s beaches, playgrounds, and recreational amenities. Project improvements included rehabilitation of the elevated wooden boardwalk at Chittenden Park, as well as the construction of a new playground, installation of a shaded gathering area, and parking enhancements at Jacob's Beach.
Prior to joining Solli Engineering, members of our team played a key role in the project’s environmental planning and permitting process. Services included tidal wetland delineations, habitat assessments, protected species surveys, coordination with state and federal resource agencies, preparation of tidal wetland restoration and enhancement plans, and support for obtaining necessary environmental permits. Through careful environmental analysis and regulatory coordination, the project successfully balanced public access improvements with the protection and restoration of valuable coastal ecosystems.

Civil, traffic, geotech, environmental, landscape, survey, and permitting — when it all needs to work together, we’re the team to call.
